About us

Founded in 2004 by Dimitri Rusca of Swiss origin, we are a team of former trade finance bankers (mainly International first class banks based such as Bnp Paribas, Credit Suisse, ING) and from large Swiss commodity traders , insurance and surveyors, all coming from the commodity industry.
Since 15 years, SCCF raise financing for small to mid size SME. Mainly active in production, export, import or distribution of natural resources throughout the world.

SCCF Team

Since 15 years SCCF employs a highly performing team of former senior commodities professionals, previously members of management of large international banks and major commodity merchant houses who, when brought together boast over 200 years of experience in Structured Commodity Trade Finance.

SCCF’s  Risk Management team includes former BNP Paribas and Société Générale managers assessing all risks with a combined experience of 40 years of experience in risk management, debt recovery and insurance

Completing the senior members of management, our head of Legal has 30 years of experience in Commodity Trade and Structured Finance and debt recovery within large international banks.

Adequate back up personnel is also employed to ensure the smooth running of many transactions monitored by SCCF from basic Soft Commodities to specialized metals and Petroleum products.

Dimitri Rusca

Founder & CEO
Dimitri, the CEO and Founder of SCCF, has more than 28 years of experience in Trade Finance, Structured Finance and commodities trading. Before founding SCCF in 2004, Dimitri was Vice President at BNP Paribas (Suisse) SA. Prior to joining BNP Paribas, Dimitri worked in other Swiss banks and at Finco division of André & Cie SA , a Swiss major commodities trading company.

Philippe Berta

General Counsel - Head of Legal and Compliance
Philippe Berta is a Swiss qualified lawyer, formerly General Counsel at BNP Paribas in Switzerland and Head of Legal Trade Finance at Banque Cantonale Vaudoise. His areas of expertise are Commodity Trade and Structured Finance, Corporate and Shipping Finance, Private Banking, Regulatory and Compliance matters. Philippe participated in the 1990s in the creation and organisation in Geneva of a new Swiss bank active in Commodity Trade Finance. Philippe is a member of the ICC Banking Commission Legal Committee and of the Financial Crime Risk and Policy Compliance Group in Paris and acts from time to time as DOCDEX expert under the ICC alternative dispute resolution rules.

Olivier Sandi

Senior Collateral Manager
Olivier has 30 years’ experience in Commodity Trade Finance, as Team Head of Letter of credit department, Senior Account Officer, Head of CTF Middle Office and Senior Collateral Manager at Credit Suisse, Société Générale and BNP Paribas. All of his previous experience allows him to fulfil his position at SCCF as Senior Collateral Manager in charge of vetting the collaterals and other securities available on financed transactions.

Aksana Metko Vergnas

Senior Transaction Manager / Collateral Officer
Aksana has over 20 years of experience in Commodity Trade Finance, having held roles as an Account Manager, Transaction and Collateral Manager, and Deputy Chief Financial Officer at several trading companies, as well as at trading banks such as ING and Crédit Agricole. She brings strong expertise in monitoring credit facilities, managing financial positions, and overseeing collateral management, which enables her to excel in her role as Senior Transaction and Collateral Manager at SCCF. Additionally, her experience working on both the banking and client sides gives her a deep understanding of clients’ needs.
Humberto-Humaran

Humberto Humaran

Senior Trade Finance Manager
Humberto has more than 24 years of International Trade and Structured Finance experience. Humberto spent 20 years at Cargill where he held senior positions and managed various businesses within Latin American and US geography’s for Cargill’s Trade and Structured Finance and Structured Risk Management Business Units. Humberto will manage our US Branch in Miami and responsible for Origination in the Region.

Daria Rotari

Senior Relationship Manager
Daria has been with SCCF since early 2014. She is responsible for Relationship and Business Development in the Middle East. She holds a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Commodity Trading from the Geneva School of Economics and Management Executive, University of Geneva. Daria has extensive experience in Commodity Trade Finance with specific expertise in oil, derivatives and grains.

Acher Benhamou

Head of Compliance
Acher holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance. He has developed strong expertise in Compliance, particularly in commodity trade finance, through roles within leading financial institutions in Geneva, including Big Four firms and AAA banks specialized in commodity trade finance. He has also advised companies active in international trade on Compliance and related risk management processes.

Rodney Paul Hutchinson

Senior Relationship Manager
Rod has spent over 20 years in banking, working with financial institutions (Rabobank and ABN AMRO in New York, Dallas and Texas) to actual physical traders. He is grateful to have gained invaluable experience in large and complex businesses through to smaller, successful start-ups, dealing across the energy, metals, agricultural and food sectors. Experience spans from vanilla short and long term financing to more intricate working capital structured solutions. Most recently on the banking side Rod was Managing Director, Head of Energy & Metals Americas before working in risk management solutions and consulting as an interim CFO at Energy developer Moss Lake Partners in Houston.

Mathieu Aygalenq

Relationship Manager
Mathieu joined SCCF early 2025 as a Relationship Manager in charge of the origination and implementation of structured finance transactions. He has close to 10 years of experience in commodity finance within both banks and trading houses. After 5 years in banking at ING and UBS as Transaction Manager on Metal desk, he joined Hartree Metals as Trade Finance Manager. He later joined IXM Geneva for a senior finance role where he was mostly involved on projects and structuration. Mathieu holds a Master’s degree in Commodity Trading from the University of Geneva

Salim Oubraham

Senior Transaction Manager / Junior Relationship Manager
Salim has 14 years of experience in the commodity trade finance industry. With a strong banking background, he spent 5 years within BNP Paribas in Geneva holding several key positions, before joining BIC BRED Geneva as Head of Collateral and Transaction Management for nearly 9 years. He has extensive experience across all commodities including agri-business, energy and metals and mining. During his career he has developed advanced skills in portfolio management, commercial development, transaction monitoring and team leadership. His expertise allows him to drive efficiency and deliver results in complex environments.

Dougal Halkan P.

Relationship Manager
Dougal joined SCCF in October 2023. He monitors and follow-up on daily basis the transactional matters of clients. He has been working seven years in commodity trade and structured finance teams in Geneva for banks and traders being exposed to Energy, Chemicals, Soft and Grain transactions. He graduated from Geneva School of Business Administration in International Management and followed the “Swiss Negoce” commodity trading program in University of Geneva.
Romain-Collet

Romain Collet

Senior Transaction Manager
Romain joined SCCF in February 2019 as Trade Finance Officer. He graduated from Geneva School of Business Administration in Commodity Trading. He assists the investment team for the implementation of new credit facilities and following up on existing trade finance transactions.

Darren Goh

Transaction Manager
Darren spent 7 years at BNP Paribas in the commodity finance team as a Transaction Manager and a Credit Analyst. He joined SCCF in December 2020 as a Trade Finance Manager to cover commodity traders in the Asia Pacific region. Darren graduated from Singapore Management University with a degree in Economics & Finance.

Eva Chan

Transaction Manager
Eva joined SCCF in Nov 2024. She spent more than 11 years in commodity trade finance, working mostly for banks (BNP, ING, Wells Fargo, Standard Chartered and Tokyo Mistubishi UFJ) in both the operations and middle office teams. Bringing along her experience, she will be assisting as a Transaction Manager in the Asia Pacific region.

Zoe Tania

Transaction Manager
Zoe joined SCCF as a Junior Trade Finance Officer in November 2023. She keeps track of the transaction of clients, ensuring that the relevant documents are in line with the requirements of the credit facility. She is from Jakarta, Indonesia and previously studied Finance and Information Systems at Boston University in the United States.

Douglas Rufino

Transaction Manager
Douglas joined SCCF in July 2025 as a Transaction Manager. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Wealth Management, both from the University of Geneva. With a solid academic background and a strong interest in the commodity trading industry, he brings valuable expertise to SCCF. In his role, Douglas monitors transactions within client's portfolios throughout their various phases and maintains updated transaction files with all information related to each operation. He is fluent in French and English.

David Bickford

Transaction Manager
David joined SCCF in August 2025. He graduated from IE University (International University in Spain Devoted to Excellence) with a degree in Economics, previously worked in Private Equity for a Washington DC based Group "UWG" and research for the OECD, additionally he founded Highbridge Research, a nonprofit for the commodities industry.

Céline Glas

Legal Officer
In January 2025 Céline joined SCCF, as in-house Legal Officer. She holds a master’s degree in international Commercial Law, and she is graduated from the ESCP Business School – Paris/London. She has been working 3 years at the same position at Banque Internationale de Commerce – BIC-BRED – Geneva.

Anne-Charlotte Pedro

Executive and Personal Assistant to the CEO
Anne-Charlotte joined SCCF in May 2025. With a background in luxury hospitality, she brings nine years of experience in front desk and concierge operations, as well as client relationship management to her role as Executive and Personal Assistant to the CEO. She is focused on efficiency, discretion and providing high-level support.

Charlotte Bernard

Junior Financial Officer
Charlotte Bernard joined SCCF in March 2026 as Finance Officer. She brings over six years of finance experience gained at an investment bank based in Paris, where she worked in an international and multi-entity environment, collaborating closely with teams across Europe and the United States. She has strong expertise in financial reporting, analysis, and operational support, and has contributed to improving reporting processes and data reliability. She is recognized for her rigor, discretion, attention to detail and analytical skills.

Rachel Ahlin

Accountant Assistant
Rachel is working for SCCF since May 2017 as accountant assistant. She obtained her bookkeeping diploma from IFAGE and holds in parallel a degree in Environmental Engineering from HEPIA.
